The Google Fitbit Air is a screenless fitness band. Google's UK store and the Amazon listing describe heart rate, sleep, activity, blood oxygen and skin temperature, with a quoted battery of up to 7 days, on iPhone and Android. The AI piece is Google Health Coach, built with Gemini, inside the Google Health app. On Amazon UK on 26 October 2026, Obsidian, ASIN B0GHSNQKXX, was in stock at £84.99, sold by Amazon. Fog was the same price.
AIToys.co.uk selects and researches this page from Google's UK store, Google's Health terms, the Amazon listings and named reporting. It is not a first-hand wear. There is no score. A band with a screen from the previous Fitbit line is the Fitbit Charge 6 review. The wider list is the best AI smartwatches and fitness trackers UK 2026.

It suits someone who wants a cheap way into Google's health app and does not need numbers on the wrist. It is a weak fit if you want calls, maps or a workout screen, or if a Google account plus a renewing subscription is a hard no.
What a screenless tracker is good at
A screenless band records while you wear it and shows the story on the phone. Google's Air page lists fitness, heart rate and sleep, and the wider Fitbit feature set on that page includes blood oxygen and skin temperature. You do not get a glanceable pace, a vibration you can read as text, or contactless pay. If those are the reason you want a wearable, look at the Garmin Venu 4 review or the Samsung Galaxy Watch9 review instead.
The advantage is boredom, in a good sense. There is nothing to light up in a meeting, and the battery quote of up to 7 days is longer than a typical smartwatch. Google still says real battery life depends on use. Charge it on Google's schedule, not on the most optimistic day in the marketing.
You need a phone nearby for setup and for reading results. Google's UK page says Android 11 or later or iOS 16.4 or later, the Google Health app, a Google account and an internet connection. If the Fitbit app is already installed, Google says you do not reinstall a separate Google Health app. The Fitbit app has become the Google Health app.
The band is described for people 13 and older. Google Health Premium is 18 and over. A parent buying this for a younger teenager gets the tracker, not the paid coach.
Google Health Coach, free months and Premium
Google Health Coach is the AI feature. Google describes adaptive fitness plans, sleep coaching, and answers drawn from your data, built with Gemini. Google's footnote says Gemini features work independently of the Gemini phone apps, that you should check responses, and that results vary. The same footnote says the features are not intended for medical purposes.
The coach is not fully free forever. Google's UK terms for the Air, and for Google Health Premium, say 3 months of Premium are included for eligible new and returning users in the United Kingdom, aged 18 or over. The offer Google prints runs until 26 May 2027. You need a valid payment method. It renews at £7.99 a month unless you cancel. One trial per customer. Returning the band cancels the subscription. Membership cannot be gifted. Google's line is on the Fitbit Air UK store page and the Premium page. Read them on the day you activate. A price in an app store listing can move.
After the trial, £7.99 a month is £95.88 a year. Two years of Premium after a three-month trial is about £167.79, plus the £84.99 band, so about £253 over two years if you keep the coach. If you cancel when the trial ends, you have paid £84.99 for the band and whatever tracking remains without Premium. Google says some features need the subscription. Confirm, in the app, which charts disappear before you let the trial roll on.

Health Guardian: check UK availability
Google has described Health Guardian reports for blood pressure trends and insulin resistance trends, aimed at Premium users on Air and on the newer Fitbit Edge. Google's own footnote says these are for general wellness and information, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. They are not a cuff and not a lab test.
On the UK store page checked for this review, Health Guardian on the Air was still labelled coming soon. A 23 October 2026 report described an app update that let some Air owners set the blood pressure and insulin resistance trends up, with a first monthly report timed for the start of November if they had worn the band enough in October. The same reporting said sleep breathing quality had reached Pixel Watch models and was still "soon" for the Air. Treat UK availability as unconfirmed until the card is in your app. Do not buy the Air on the assumption that a blood pressure trend is live today.
If it appears, it remains a wellness trend. It does not replace a blood pressure monitor. The Huawei Watch D3 review is the page for a wrist cuff Huawei describes as CE-MDR certified. The Air is not that product.
Fitbit Air, WHOOP, CIRQA and Polar Loop
These are all screenless, or nearly so. Prices are Amazon UK figures on 26 October 2026 unless noted. Price correct as of 26 October 2026.
| Fitbit Air | WHOOP Peak | Garmin CIRQA | Polar Loop | |
| Listing price | £84.99 | £229 for 12 months, device included | £179 | £149.50 |
| What the price buys | The band | A year of membership and a 5.0 band | The band | The band |
| Ongoing fee | £7.99 a month after 3 months, for Premium | Another year if you renew | None for core metrics. Connect+ is optional | None. Polar does not claim an AI coach |
| Screen | No | No | No | No |
| Battery quote | Up to 7 days | 14+ days on the WHOOP title | Up to 10 days | Check Polar's current quote |
| AI | Google Health Coach with Gemini | WHOOP's coach | Active Intelligence only with Connect+ | No clear AI feature from Polar |
The Air is the smallest cash outlay. WHOOP is a membership, explained in the WHOOP 5.0 and MG review. CIRQA keeps core metrics free, in the Garmin CIRQA review. Polar Loop is the non-AI comparison: a screen-free band without a subscription story. It is on Amazon UK as B0FKB8FSSS at £149.50 in the 26 October 2026 research set. Buy it only if you have confirmed Polar's current feature list and you do not want a coach.
There is no Fitbit Charge 7
Searches for Fitbit Charge 7 are looking for a product Google has not released. The Charge line you can still buy is the Charge 6, reviewed here: Fitbit Charge 6 review. On 26 October 2026 Amazon UK listing B0CHN2F11G was in stock at £106.00. It has a screen. It is the closer match if "Charge 7" is what you typed.
The other new Fitbit is the Fitbit Edge, ASIN B0HHBL2V5C, listed at £159.99. On 26 October 2026 Amazon showed it as a pre-order, with a release date of 27 October 2026. Google's blog describes the same Google Health Coach. A pre-order is buyable as a pre-order. It is not the same as a band that ships today. Re-check the listing if you are reading this after that date.

Account, data and privacy
Setup is a Google account and the Google Health app. The band syncs fitness and health measurements to that account. Google says the coach can draw on your fitness and health data, and, where you have connected them, on other records in the health app. That is a wide door. Before you turn the coach on, read which sources are connected and disconnect any you do not want a model to see.
Google's footnote is the right standard for the replies: check them. A plan that tells you to run, or a sentence about your sleep, can be wrong. It is general wellness information, not medical advice. Do not change medication or ignore symptoms because the coach sounded confident.
Premium billing, the trial end date and cancellation sit in the Google account and in the Play or App Store subscription list, depending on where you activated it. Device data and account data are related and not identical. Removing the band from the app does not by itself delete the history. Use Google's data and privacy controls, including the Fitbit and Google Health deletion tools in the account, and read the current privacy notice. The UK smart device privacy guide is the shorter checklist for passwords and recovery options.
Google also says heart rate and sleep features are not for medical purposes, and that movement, placement and physiology affect heart rate readings. That applies to the charts even if you never open the coach.

FAQ
Is there a Fitbit Charge 7?
No. Google has not released a Charge 7. The current Charge with a screen is the Charge 6, at £106.00 on Amazon UK listing B0CHN2F11G on 26 October 2026. The screenless follow-up in this price band is the Fitbit Air. The Fitbit Edge was a pre-order at £159.99, dated 27 October 2026.
Do I need Google Health Premium?
You need it for Google Health Coach and for the features Google marks as Premium. Three months are included for eligible UK users, then £7.99 a month unless you cancel. Basic sync still needs the Google Health app and a Google account even if you never subscribe.
Is the Fitbit Air a medical device?
No. Google says the tracking and the coach are not for medical purposes. Health Guardian trends, where they appear, are wellness information. They do not diagnose blood pressure or insulin resistance. Speak to your GP about symptoms.
How long does the battery last?
Google quotes up to 7 days. That is a manufacturer figure, not a measurement from this site. Expect less if you use every sensor all day. There is no screen to check the percentage on your wrist, so the phone app is where the battery warning appears.
Does it work with an iPhone?
Google says yes, on iOS 16.4 or later, with the Google Health app and a Google account. Android 11 or later is the other path.
What else should I read?
The WHOOP review and the Garmin CIRQA review are the other screenless options. The Charge 6 review is the Fitbit with a display. The privacy guide covers the account.
