The Garmin CIRQA is a screen-free band Garmin launched in July 2026. Garmin's press release and the Amazon title describe a fabric strap, up to 10 days of battery, 24/7 heart rate and heart rate variability, Pulse Ox, stress, skin temperature, Body Battery, a sleep score and coaching, and automatic detection of 80-plus activities. The line Garmin puts on the box is the one that separates it from WHOOP: no subscription for those core metrics. On Amazon UK on 26 October 2026 the S/M Black, ASIN B0H9494GK2, was in stock at £179.00, sold by Amazon. L/XL Black and S/M French Gray were the same price.
AIToys.co.uk selects and researches this page from Garmin's launch release, the CIRQA manual notes on Connect+, and the Amazon listings. It is not a first-hand wear. There is no score. The watch with a screen in the same family is the Garmin Venu 4 review. The shortlist that sits beside both is best AI smartwatches and fitness trackers UK 2026.

It suits someone who already likes Garmin Connect, or who wants a band they cannot fiddle with, and who will not pay a monthly fee for basic sleep and heart rate. It is a weak fit if you want pace on the wrist, an ECG, a blood pressure cuff, or coaching text included in the £179.
What you get without a subscription
Garmin's launch description is a health band, not a watch you forgot to switch on. Heart rate and HRV run through the day and night. Pulse Ox, stress, skin temperature and Body Battery are on the press release. Sleep gets a score and coaching inside Garmin Connect. Activities Garmin recognises can start a record without you pressing a button on a screen you do not have. The Amazon title says 80-plus activities and activity auto detect.
Those features are the free tier. Garmin's point, repeated at launch, is that the band does not need Connect+ to show them. That is different from WHOOP, where the membership is the product, and different from Oura, where the scores sit behind a fee. It is closer to the Fitbit Air's hardware price, except Google puts the Gemini coach behind Premium. The comparison table is below.
Body Battery, sleep score and stress are Garmin's wellness models. They are not medical results. Garmin does not, on the material used for this page, claim a UK medical-device certification for the CIRQA. Do not treat a low Body Battery as a diagnosis, and do not change medication because a sleep score moved. If you feel ill, speak to your GP. The band is context, not a clinic.
There is no ECG app and no inflatable cuff on this product. If those are the reason you are shopping, read the Venu 4 review for the ECG app Garmin ships on that watch, and the Huawei Watch D3 review for a cuff Huawei describes as CE-MDR certified. The CIRQA will not do either job.
The phone is the screen. Garmin Connect on iPhone or Android is where you read the night, edit a mis-detected activity, and see the battery. If you hate phone dashboards, a screenless band will annoy you even when the hardware is fine.
Active Intelligence and Connect+
Active Intelligence is Garmin's AI layer: short insights generated from health, activity and, where you log it, nutrition data. Garmin introduced it with Connect+ in March 2025. On the CIRQA, Garmin's manual and launch notes put Active Intelligence, nutrition tracking and live activity on the optional subscription, not in the £179.
You do not need it to see heart rate or sleep. Subscribe if you want the sentences, the nutrition log and the live mirror of an indoor session on the phone. Skip it if you only wanted the band Garmin advertised as subscription-free. Both choices are valid. The marketing and the fee should not be blurred.
UK price reporting, including the5krunner in April 2026, puts Connect+ at £6.99 a month or £69.99 a year, with a trial for new subscribers. That is not a price this page watched Garmin charge on 26 October 2026. Open the app and read the figure. A year of Connect+ at £69.99 on top of a £179 band is £248.99 in the first year if you pay annually and the price holds. Two years is about £319. At that point you are in Venu 4 money, and the Venu has a screen. The Venu 4 review is the upgrade if the missing display is the thing you notice in week two.
Active Intelligence can be wrong. It is general wellness information, not medical advice. It is also optional, which is the cleanest privacy control: do not turn on a model you do not want reading the file.

Sizing
The band is fabric, in S/M and L/XL. Heart rate from the wrist needs contact. A loose band is a gap in the file, not a comfort win. Garmin's size guide on the listing is the one to use. If you are between sizes, read the chart rather than guessing from a T-shirt size.
Colours checked in stock at £179 were Black in both sizes and French Gray in S/M. "Gray" is Amazon's spelling of that finish. L/XL Black is ASIN B0H93Y497R. S/M French Gray is B0H94CWH3Q. The L/XL listing uses the same product image family as the S/M Black photo on this page. The fit is the difference, not a second design.

CIRQA, WHOOP, Fitbit Air and Polar Loop
All four are worn without a watch face. Prices are Amazon UK on 26 October 2026. Price correct as of 26 October 2026.
| Garmin CIRQA | WHOOP Peak | Fitbit Air | Polar Loop | |
| Price that day | £179 for the band | £229 for 12 months, band included | £84.99 for the band | £149.50 for the band |
| Core metrics | No subscription | The membership is required | Tracking in the Google Health app | No subscription, on Polar's positioning |
| AI | Connect+ only | Coach inside the membership | Gemini coach needs Premium after 3 months | No clear AI claim from Polar |
| Battery quote | Up to 10 days | 14-plus days | Up to 7 days | See Polar's current spec |
| Phone | Garmin Connect, iPhone or Android | WHOOP app | Google Health, iPhone or Android | Polar's app |
The CIRQA is the "pay for the band, keep the charts" option inside Garmin. WHOOP is the coaching membership, in the WHOOP review. The Air is cheaper hardware with a Google account and a coach that becomes £7.99 a month, in the Fitbit Air review. Polar Loop is the comparison with no AI story. Polar has not published an advisor equivalent that this page can point at. Buy it when you want a screen-free band and you do not want a model commenting on your sleep. The ASIN in the 26 October research set is B0FKB8FSSS.
Account, data and privacy
You need a Garmin Connect account. The band stores a window of data and syncs heart rate, HRV, sleep, stress, Pulse Ox, skin temperature and detected activities to Garmin. GPS-style location is less central than on a watch, because this is not a mapping device, but activities and any phone-assisted features still sit on the account. Read the sync screen rather than assuming the band is invisible.
Active Intelligence is the extra reader. It uses the health and activity file, and nutrition if you log food under Connect+. Leave Connect+ off and that layer does not run. Privacy settings for social features, LiveTrack and challenges are the same Garmin Connect controls as on a Venu. Turn off anything that shares a session with contacts.
Delete the account data from Garmin's privacy tools when you stop. Removing the band in the app is not a full delete. Garmin's privacy notice is the retention document. The UK smart device privacy guide is the password and recovery checklist.
Coaching text, if you subscribe, is general wellness information, not medical advice. It can be wrong. The free sleep coaching notes are also wellness copy. They are not a sleep study.

FAQ
Does the Garmin CIRQA need a subscription?
No, for the core metrics Garmin lists: heart rate, HRV, sleep, stress, Pulse Ox, skin temperature, Body Battery and auto-detected activities. Connect+ is optional and adds Active Intelligence.
What does Connect+ add?
Garmin describes AI insights, nutrition tracking and live activity on the phone, among other extras. UK reporting in 2026 quoted £6.99 a month or £69.99 a year. Confirm the price in Garmin Connect.
Which size should I buy?
S/M or L/XL, from Garmin's chart, not from a guess. The Black S/M is B0H9494GK2. The Black L/XL is B0H93Y497R. Both were £179 on 26 October 2026.
Is it a medical device?
No. Sleep scores, stress and Body Battery are wellness information. The CIRQA does not record an ECG and does not measure blood pressure with a cuff. Speak to your GP about symptoms.
How does it compare with WHOOP?
WHOOP Peak was £229 for 12 months with the band included. CIRQA was £179 for the band, and the charts do not require a renewal to keep working. WHOOP's coach is part of the membership. CIRQA's AI text is not. See the WHOOP review.
What if I want a screen?
The Garmin Venu 4 is the AMOLED Garmin at £348.32 for the 45 mm Black on the same day. The Fitbit Charge 6 is a smaller screened tracker. The privacy guide covers the account either way.
