It suits someone who trains across running and strength, wants offline maps and a long charge, and does not need Apple's or Google's app shops. It is a weak fit if you want a cuff blood pressure reading, a deep third-party app store, or a coach that is a medical opinion. HybridCharge, and what the score uses
HybridCharge Energy Intelligence is Zepp's name for one capacity view in the app. It combines three pieces. BioCharge is the recovery side. LifeLoad is daily stress and lifestyle. Training Load is the work you have done. Weekly Focus, Training Balance and Hybrid Training Plans sit on top of that mix, on the June 2026 press release.
The inputs are the watch's own sensors and the training you record: sleep, heart rate, heart-rate variability, and the sessions you log. It is Zepp's model. It is not a clinical test, and it is not a medical device. A high score is not clearance to race. A low score is not a diagnosis. If you feel ill, speak to a GP. AI or algorithm text on top of the score is general wellness information, not medical advice.
You need several days of wear before a readiness-style number means anything. Zepp's own coach pages describe plans that adapt from recovery, sleep and stress. Give it a fortnight before you decide the watch "does not know you".
Training: HYROX, strength and GPS
Amazfit's launch describes official HYROX tools: training plans, race simulations, a Virtual Pace, and post-race analysis. That is the reason a HYROX search lands here. The tools are as useful as the plan you follow and the GPS you trust on the day. They are not a race entry, and they are not a substitute for the event's own rules.
Strength work gets 25 auto-recognised exercises, on Amazfit's description. Automatic recognition misses lifts and invents others. Rename the session in the app if your log is how you progress. Running gets dual-band GPS, six satellite systems and offline maps, on the product description. Dual-band is the spec that matters in tall streets and under trees. Offline maps matter when the phone stays in the bag. Confirm the map region downloads on Wi-Fi before you need it.
The listing also describes Bluetooth calls, Zepp Flow voice control, voice notes, an LED flashlight and 10 ATM. Voice control is a convenience. It is not the same thing as Zepp Aura's paid sleep chat, covered below. The flashlight is a path light, not a bike light. 10 ATM is the listing's water line. Read Amazfit's swimming notes before you treat that as a dive rating. Hot tubs and saunas are a poor idea for any watch battery.
Free Zepp Coach, paid Zepp Aura
Zepp Coach is the free layer. Amazfit's UK coach page describes personalised plans from recovery, sleep and stress, without a subscription. That is the coaching most people mean when they ask if the watch "needs a fee". Core tracking does not.
Zepp Aura is the AI sleep assistant. It is a paid subscription with a limited free tier. Amazfit's UK Aura page describes one AI message a day on the free tier, and a 14-day trial of the paid tier. The same UK page has shown prices in US dollars ($11.99 a month or $69.99 a year on the page checked for this review). A dollar figure on a UK web page is not the price you should budget. Check the current UK price in the Zepp app. Check availability of that paid tier in the UK at the same time. If the app shows a different monthly figure, or no purchase button, believe the app.
Aura reads sleep data. The replies can be wrong. AI guidance is general wellness information, not medical advice. Do not subscribe if you will not read a sleep summary. The watch does not stop tracking if you skip Aura.
Zepp Health's press material places the company in the Netherlands. The privacy notice is still the document that says where your file is processed. Headquarters is not a full privacy policy.
Battery
Zepp quotes up to 21 days. That is the headline to compare with the Huawei Watch GT 7, which quotes the same 21 days of light use on the 46 mm in Huawei's lab. Both quotes shrink with GPS, always-on display and music or maps. Use them to leave the daily-charge category, then expect a shorter gap once maps and HYROX simulations are on.
The Garmin Venu 4 quotes up to 12 days on the 45 mm. Balance 3's quote is longer. Garmin's training history and maps are the other side of that choice. Pick the app you will still open in March, not only the day-count on the box.
Titanium, steel, and Balance Ultra
The Amazon listing checked here is the titanium case at £449.90, with sapphire glass on the title. US prices at launch were widely reported at $369.99 for steel and $449.99 for titanium. Amazfit's UK store listing the £369.90 to £449.90 band matches that idea. Because no steel ASIN came back from Amazon UK on 26 October 2026, this page will not invent one. If steel appears later, the titanium premium is what you re-check. Until then, £449.90 is the Amazon price.
Balance Ultra, 49 mm, ASIN B0H33DSQG4, was £599.90. Amazon showed only 13 left, with more on the way. Zepp's Ultra material describes a longer battery, on the order of 30 days in the comparison used for this shortlist. Scarce stock is not a reason to rush. If 13 becomes zero, wait for the replenishment rather than a third-party listing this page has not reviewed. The Ultra is the step up for battery and the larger case. It is £150 more than the Balance 3 titanium listing. Buy it if the 30-day quote is the feature. Buy the Balance 3 if 21 days and £449.90 are enough.

Cheaper Amazfit, and other watches
Amazfit Active 3, 45 mm, ASIN B0GK246NH3, was £139.99 and in stock. The smartwatch shortlist describes a 1.32 inch AMOLED, GPS, offline maps and about 12 days. It is the budget Amazfit if titanium and the HYROX depth are not the point. Zepp Aura is still the paid add-on on that side of the brand. You need a Zepp account. Activities, heart rate, sleep and GPS tracks upload when the phone syncs. Zepp Aura, if you subscribe or use the free daily message, reads sleep data to write the reply. Turn it off if you do not want that.
Review sharing and third-party connections in the app before you link another service. Delete or export from the Zepp account when you stop.
