The Google Fitbit Edge is a slim fitness tracker with a screen, built-in GPS and Google Health Coach on the wrist. Google published it on 12 October 2026 and set a release date of 27 October 2026. Treat it as newly released. On 26 October 2026 Amazon UK still showed that release date. Matte Black with an Obsidian band, ASIN B0HHBL2V5C, was £159.00, sold by Amazon. Polished Silver and Fog, B0HHBN1JB8, was £159.99. Satin Pyrite and Olive, B0HHBLX5B4, was £159.00. The Stephen Curry Special Edition, B0HJ68JST2, was £189.99.
Launch-week stock moves. The listing is buyable. This page does not promise a dispatch date. Check availability on the Amazon page the day you order.
AIToys.co.uk selects and researches this page from Google's 12 October 2026 Fitbit post, Google's footnotes, and the Amazon UK listings. It is not a first-hand wear. There is no score. Long-term owner reports are still thin because the product is new. The CNET video below is a launch review, not a finding from this site. The screenless sibling is the Google Fitbit Air review.

| Age | Adult tracker. ECG is not for under-22s where Google offers it. Premium is described as 18 and over on the Air page |

It suits someone who wants Fitbit's charts and a small screen, on either an iPhone or an Android phone, and who will pay Premium if the coach is the point. It is a weak fit if you want apps, mobile pay, or a watch that answers a call. Google's launch post does not describe those. It is also a weak fit if you need a product with a year of owner reports behind it.

Where Edge sits
Edge is the tracker between the screenless Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5. Air has no screen and was £84.99. Pixel Watch 5 is a Wear OS watch at £369.00 for the 41 mm, and it does not pair with iPhone. Edge is the middle: a band-sized case, a display, GPS, and the same Google Health account.
Google's measurements: the case is 11.5 mm, with a Hybrid OLED Google says has 46% more viewing area than previous trackers, and a physical side button. Google also says the case is 45% lighter than the Apple Watch Series 12. That comparison is Google's. It does not make Edge an Apple Watch. You do not get the Apple app shop, cellular, or Apple's health features.
There is no Fitbit Charge 7. Searches for that name are looking for a product Google has not released. The Charge you can still buy is the Fitbit Charge 6. On 26 October 2026 listing B0CHN2F11G was in stock at £106.00. Edge is the newer slim tracker with a screen. Charge 6 is the cheaper one with a longer sales history.
Google Health Coach, free months and Premium
Google Health Coach is built with Gemini. On the wrist, Google describes coaching that uses your fitness and health data. It needs Google Health Premium. Purchase includes three months. After that it is paid.
The Air review on this site records £7.99 a month on the Google Store UK. Confirm the live price in the app or on the Google Store. After the three included months, 12 paid months is £95.88, on top of the £159 hardware. Across two calendar years, 21 paid months is about £167.79 if the price holds. Cancel in the store where you activated the subscription if you do not want the renewal. Google's footnote says to check responses. A plan can be wrong.
AI guidance is general wellness information, not medical advice. Do not change medication or ignore symptoms because the coach sounded sure.
The same account and the same coach are explained on the Fitbit Air review. This page does not repeat every deletion step. Use that page for the Google Health controls, then come back for the screen and the GPS.
GPS and workout recognition
Google says Edge has built-in GPS, an altimeter, 50 or more exercise modes, and automatic recognition of up to 100 workouts. On GPS, Google says tracking is up to 40% better than previous generations. That is Google's comparison with Google's older trackers, not a lab result from this site. Built-in GPS matters if you run without a phone. A phone-only GPS band is a different product.
Automatic recognition is convenient and imperfect. A walk to the shops can become a workout, or a real one can be missed. Correct it in the app if the history matters to you. The side button and the small screen are how you start a mode without pulling out the phone. They are not a smartwatch launcher.
Health Guardian, ECG, and the limits
Health Guardian on Edge covers blood pressure trends, insulin resistance trends, and high and low heart rate alerts, on Google's list. Availability varies by country. The tools are general wellness. They are not a prescreener. They are not for use in pregnancy. A blood pressure trend is not a blood pressure measurement. Check availability in the UK before you buy Edge for those cards. The Air page on this site has already had to say the Air's own Guardian cards were still marked coming soon. Do not assume Edge is further ahead on a UK account than the app shows.
The ECG app is offered in select countries and is not for people under 22. Confirm it is on your account. A trace, where it exists, is something you can show a clinician. It is not a heart-attack check and not a reason to change treatment. Skin temperature and heart-rate variability are wellness signals. Movement, fit and physiology change a wrist reading, which is Google's own caution on heart rate.
Google rates the tracker 5 ATM and IP68, and says it is not waterproof. Use those words together. A 5 ATM line in a shop filter is not permission to ignore Google's "not waterproof" sentence. Showers, swimming and hot tubs are the uses to check against the manual you get in the box. This page does not tell you to swim in it.
Battery and repair
Google quotes up to 7 days, from a California test on pre-production units. That is a manufacturer figure with a narrow test note. Production units, GPS runs and the always-on habits of a real week can be shorter. A 5-minute charge is described as enough for a day. That is the practical rescue if you forgot it before a run.
Google calls Edge the first repairable Fitbit tracker, with a replaceable battery. Repair matters more on a tracker you might keep for several years than on a disposable band. Use Google's repair route. A third-party strap listing is not a battery service. This page does not link strap sellers.

Edge costs £210 less than the 41 mm Pixel Watch 5 and £74.01 more than the Air. You are paying for the screen and GPS, not for a different Google account. Charge 6 at £106 remains the cheaper screened Fitbit with a longer time on sale. Read that review if you want the known quantity.
The Curry edition at £189.99 is a finish, not a different health platform. Mention it if you want that look. The Black listing is the lead link.
Account, data and privacy
Setup is a Google account and the Google Health app. The coach can draw on fitness, health and connected records. Google says to check responses. Review which sources are connected before you turn the coach on.
Premium billing sits in the Google account and in the store subscription list. Removing the tracker from the app does not delete the history. The Fitbit Air review walks through those controls. The UK smart device privacy guide is the password checklist.
AI guidance is general wellness information, not medical advice.

FAQ
When is the Fitbit Edge released in the UK?
Google's published date is 27 October 2026. Treat the tracker as newly released and check Amazon for current availability. The buy link stays up because the listing is buyable.
Does it work with an iPhone?
Google says yes, on iOS 16.4 or later, with the Google Health app and a Google account. Android 11 or later is the other path. Pixel Watch 5 is the Android-only watch in this family.
Do I need Google Health Premium?
You need it for Google Health Coach after the three included months. Confirm £7.99, or whatever the app now shows, before you let it renew. Basic sync still needs the Google account even if you never subscribe.
How does Edge compare with Fitbit Air?
Air was £84.99 and has no screen. Edge was £159.00 and adds a display and built-in GPS. Both use Google Health Coach and the same Premium question. Buy Air if the phone is where you read everything. Buy Edge if you want to glance at the wrist.
Is it waterproof?
Google says 5 ATM and IP68, and also says it is not waterproof. Read the manual for showers and swimming. This page does not call it a swim tracker.
Is there a Fitbit Charge 7?
No. The current Charge with a screen is the Charge 6, at £106.00 on listing B0CHN2F11G on 26 October 2026. See the Charge 6 review. Edge is the newer screened tracker. Air is the screenless one.
