T3 also reported a Kids edition of Echo Time. Amazon had not published a UK price for it on 30 October 2026, so it is not included here.

What AI does here

On the new Echo Dot, Echo Time and Echo Studio with Home Camera, Amazon says you can chat naturally, change topic, and get help across your services and smart home based on your preferences: a conversation with Amazon's assistant.

What you pay after Early Access depends on the speaker. On those three, Early Access is free and Alexa+ is then free with Prime. Amazon does not make that promise on the Kids Echo Dot. Its story feature, where a child names the characters and Alexa narrates, needs Alexa+ and Kids+. On the Echo Studio (newest gen) without a camera, ASIN B0DXMSWMDT, Early Access is free and a subscription is required afterwards. The other speakers below come with Alexa+ Early Access, and Amazon does not say what they cost once that ends.

The Kids Echo Dot

Amazon does not give an age range for this speaker. It says child profiles make Alexa speak a child's language, answer at their level and follow a new topic. A parent sets it up, adds trusted contacts before a child can call or message family, and uses the Parent Dashboard for listening history, stories and bedtime playlists.

One year of Kids+ is included. Amazon says it then renews monthly from £6.99. Cancel in the Parent Dashboard or via customer service. Price correct as of 30 October 2026. Sleep Studio, from Calm and Moshi, needs Kids+, and Amazon says it does not track sleep. Song requests skip explicit lyrics on Amazon Music, Apple Music and Spotify. There is a microphone off button and no camera. The light ring shows Alexa is listening, the button disconnects the microphones, and recordings can be reviewed and deleted in the Alexa app.

Our Kids Echo Dot (5th generation) review is the earlier model.

Microphones, the Studio camera and recordings

The new Echo Dot, Echo Time and both Echo Studio listings have a microphone off button. While the microphones are enabled, they listen for a request. That is the always-on mic of a voice speaker. The Kids listing says you can review and delete recordings in the Alexa app. Amazon says it is not in the business of selling your personal information to others.

The Echo Studio with Home Camera adds the 13 MP camera, a status LED, a camera off button and camera control in the app.

Cord Busters and The Independent say the Echo Show 16 and Alexa Photo Frame are not in the UK line-up for now. T3 says the Echo Show 16 is a US exclusive for now. See our Echo Show 15 review, the Nest Hub (2nd gen) review and the 2026 smart speakers and AI displays guide.
